Welcome to our Fenlands Family Church web pages!
Fenlands Family Church is a local fellowship of Christians, based in Thorney welcoming visitors from all the surrounding villages. We are from a variety of backgrounds but with something in common - our love for the Lord Jesus Christ and our desire to serve Him. We work in relationship with Fenlands Church (Wisbech) which relates with the Newfrontiers family of churches.
Fenlands Family Church is lively and very friendly.
The atmosphere is relaxed and casual.
There is no dress code nor special conditions attached to coming
to visit us. We enjoy
having visitors and like to feel that everyone is able to share in
fellowship and worship with us.
A key vision for Fenlands Family Church (shared with Fenlands Church) is
connected with this verse from ACTS 2:42:
“They devoted themselves to the
apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and
to prayer”.
Besides our main Sunday morning gathering, we also meet on Tuesday
evenings. These midweek
meetings are called Home Groups and, as the name suggests, are held in
the homes of some of our local members.
Home Groups offer special opportunities for prayer and Bible
Study in an informal and relaxed setting.
We are also able to run well known courses such as Alpha,
Marriage Enrichment and
"Soul Talk" (a way of helping get to know us quickly, and what we
believe, before joining us).
Here are details of what we do:
Sundays @ 10.30am
This is our main, "all together" Church gathering. The usual
"style" includes a time of praise and worship which will include sharing
in prayer, reading Scripture, using Spiritual Gifts and testimony along
with songs of Praise and Worship.
After a short slot for information and announcements (Notices) we
have a Bible based time of teaching. We aim to finish around noon.
Most weeks, there are arrangements for the younger children during the
teaching time, although they will usually stay in the main meeting
during the worship.
We want to
be
church
where we live and so we hold the midweek meetings mentioned
earlier. Throughout the
year we will also host a series of events, such as informal BBQs and
Music Concerts where we hope to meet you.
